Our Data Privacy Policies
At Lokoro, we are entrusted with your data and information processed on the Lokoro app. We strongly commit to keeping closely to the personal data regulations and this Privacy Policy covers how Lokoro handles personal data whether you interact with us on our app, and webpage. Lokoro’s Privacy Policy covers the platforms and software that we own and does not apply to how third parties define personal data or how they use it. We expect all employees of Lokoro to comply with this when managing our platform.
Lokoro is adherent to data protection laws and will not utilise personal data for commercial purposes. The personal information located in Lokoro’s database is used solely for identification and user’s purposes. Our interface is similarly protected against malware or attacks to contain the confidentiality of your information. Lokoro adheres to the following guidelines under the Data Protection and Privacy Act.
The Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (the “PDPA”) establishes a general data protection law in Singapore which governs the collection, use and disclosure of individuals’ personal data by organisations. The Personal Data Protection Commission (the “Commission”) is established under the PDPA with the key functions, amongst others, of promoting awareness of data protection in Singapore and administering and enforcing the PDPA.
Nonetheless, Lokoro’s interface might be susceptible to malware despite security established on the site such as third parties practices that Lokoro is not aware of. These might appear in the form of links or other means of access. Please note that this Terms of Use and Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that Lokoro does not own or control, or individuals that we do not employ or manage. We encourage you to read their privacy policies and understand your privacy rights before interacting with them.

1. Your Personal Data
Under the PDPA (No. 26 of 2021), personal data refers to any data or information about you from which you can be identified, either from the data or from that data and other information that we might or likely have access to.
Personal data examples are as such:
- Full name, NRIC Number or FIN (Foreign - Identification Number), Passport number, Personal mobile telephone number, Facial image of an individual (e.g. in a photograph or video recording), Voice of an individual (e.g. in a voice recording), Fingerprint/ Iris image, DNA profile
2. Collection of your Personal Data
The use of your personal data from Lokoro is strictly not for commercial use. We will never sell your data to anyone, whether are they in individual instances or through large bulks. Lokoro collects your personal data for better use within the team, to better understand your interests and to better finetune our algorithms for your use. Collection of your personal data is used for the following instances as such:
- Profile registration: When you first register our profile under Lokoro and input your personal details for identification
- Location geotagging: Your location when you locate your geo-point on the application
- Social media registration and linkage: When you choose to connect your Account with an external third party service
- Enquiry and help assistance: When you contact us for assistance or queries
- External event registration: When you take part in a survey or giveaway with us when it is prompted on the app
- Diagnostic data: Review of application through aggregated data

- Usage data: This is how you navigate the app and the use of our offerings, such as app launches within our services. This includes browsing history; search history; product interaction; crash data, performance and other diagnostic data; and other usage data
- Payment information: When you input your payment methods and your bank details for the payment transaction
- Employment and volunteer opportunity: This includes our LokoChampion recruitment when you enter your details to be part of the LokoChampion program
We will however not utilise these information outside of our database and the information is used only to facilitate the services on our application. You will be notified in the instance that any personal information is processed under the Notification Obligation under the PDPA policy under Section 14(1).
You do not need to oblige to your information being shared with us, but that would render some of our services on the application unable to you. Lokoro emphasizes that we do not utilise your data for external purposes.
3. Do Not Call Registry
We will not send you promotional messages via your telephone number unless you have provided us consent to do so under the “Do Not Call” registry.
According to the PDPA commission, the DNC Registry, however, does not cover messages sent for other purposes, such as service calls or reminder messages sent by organisations to render services bought by the individual. Messages for pure market survey or research and those that promote charitable or religious causes are also not covered under the DNC provisions. Telemarketing calls or messages of a commercial nature that target businesses are also excluded from the DNC Registry rules. For the list of messages that are excluded under the PDPA, please refer to the Eighth Schedule of the PDPA.

4. Use of your Personal Data
Third party software may have access to the platform’s data and information only as part of the functioning of the application. The third-party developer and software company will have no access or retention of the personal data provided on the platform.
Our information database is authenticated with security and is not liable to use by the third party sites or host used for this app.
We process your information to maintain, develop and update the application. In the case of any incident on the platform once made known to the team, we will run through the personal data collected from the platform to better understand the situation. Users will be notified in those instances. Other than that, we process your information on our app for the following maintenance services:
- Improving our services: Updating the application and user experience by looking at the consumption habits and patterns to better the user experience
- Awarding points and maintaining our loyalty program: Managing the process of our LokoCoins in the platform
- Maintaining the quality of the service: Verifying accounts and prevent duplication of accounts
- Security and fraud prevention: Reducing spam and maintaining content consistency and content that aligns with our community guidelines. We also aim to spot any issues the app that might occur in the case of a breach.
- Processing your payment: Processing your payment requires us to go through the transaction process and transaction verification related to payment
- Communicating with you: Sending regular updates and progress made on the application as well as when you reach out to us for an enquiry
- Investors relations and reporting: Research and development purposes to provide case studies and statistics for our app developments. In this, we do so through legal methods and is no way identifying any individuals from these data points

Lokoro aims to manage the safety of your personal data by committing to not transferring your personal data to any other person or platform. However, should any attacks or malware occur, Lokoro will inform the users and have in place our incident management process to manage the impact and level of malware on the application to our furthest capacity.
5. Disclosure of your Personal Data
Lokoro will not disclose your personal data to external sites or parties. Our app allows users to share information about other businesses and news and the user is to exercise judgement and discretion to protect against their own information that is posted about yourself.
Lokoro follows our strict community guideline and will investigate and monitor the platform when a report is highlighted. However, users are to exercise the first line of defense by ensuring that one’s personal information is not exposed on the platform when sharing information. Lokoro will only be able to protect your information that is registered at the onset of the registration and any information posted by the user themselves will have to be investigated further and is not covered under the PDPA policy. We will also not be regulating the information that is covered in accounts that have been deactivated or deleted.
6. Transfer, withdrawal, retention and access of your Personal Data
Your personal data and information is contained within the app and is managed directly by the Lokoro team in Singapore. However, as your data is stored in the cloud, the data you provide us may physically reside outside the boundaries of Singapore. However, parties outside of Singapore will not be able to access your data. Lokoro is committed to ensure the safety of your personal data based on the PDPA guidelines and policy. Lokoro aims to build trust and security with our users and in the case that you wish to remove your data on the platform where you deem needed, please contact us directly at dataprivacy@lokoro.sg.
Lokoro will hold on to your information of active accounts on our server logs, our databases, and our records for as long as necessary to provide the Services. This retention of information is only present to ensure legal procedures and investigations when needed. Users will be actively informed about this by the Lokoro team and developers on the specific App downloading portal.
Your information on the app is also utilised on the web version of Lokoro where information about the LokoChampion will be applicable. Our overall admin database and portal is similarly present within this network. Once again, Lokoro commits to retaining your personal information within our database across the app, our website, and our Lokoro database and its relevant infrastructure.

Under the exceptions referred to in Section 21(2) of the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (No. 26 of 2012) of Singapore (“PDPA”), you have the right to collect the personal data on the app related to you. If you would like to request this copy, please contact our PDPA officer directly at dataprivacy@lokoro.sg. We may levy a small charge for this service.
Should any information about yourself be inaccurate, you can email us to correct this data by sending an email to our PDPA officer. You may ask us, or we may ask you, to correct information you or we think is inaccurate, and you may also ask us to remove information that is inaccurate.
7. Use of Cookies
Our application is enacted with certain tracking technologies that are present in most other applications to help facilitate the functioning of the app. The use of cookies helps us to understand the user habits and patterns to help us better update and facilitate the app for a better experience. Similar to Google, a cookie is a small piece of text sent to your browser by a website you visit. The cookie will help the app remember information about your visit and experience. As of the launch (April 2021) we do not onboard marketing opportunities or ads, there will be little use of cookies to curate better information for that. However, the use of cookies is implemented from the onset in the app to better understand the user journey and experience.
8. Third Party Sites
The app may occasionally contain links to external party sites which require information from users in order to function properly. Lokoro does not have control over these third parties and their privacy practices. It is hence advisable to locate the source of these sites and information and understand how the information is being used from their sites. 9. Sale or closure of business
If Lokoro’s business is sold or integrated with another business, your details may be disclosed to our advisors and any prospective purchases and their advisors. The platform and data infrastructure will be passed on to the new owners of the business.
In the event that Lokoro ceases to operate, all data in our systems will be deleted within 1 year from the close of operations.

10. Any other issues and queries
Lokoro primes itself on building communities of good and aims to be a social technology that creates positive synergy within communities on the platform. To do so, the user is the key on our application and we want to keep this space safe and secured for one to freely express and engage in the services. As such, we focus on ensuring the safety of your information and data and are committed to keeping your personal data within our database solely for app updates and upgrading purposes. Nevertheless, should any issue arise out of the norm, do contact the team immediately as we aim to escalate the issue to further processes.
